In Dezeen, the community centre designed by Fernanda Canales in Iztapalapa is presented as an architecture conceived to provide protection, social interaction, and access to culture within a vulnerable urban context. The publication highlights how the project employs courtyards, gardens, and strategically placed walls to visually and acoustically shield the complex from the nearby Reclusorio Oriente prison, creating luminous and open spaces that encourage learning, well-being, and the collective appropriation of public space.
