As part of an initiative promoted by the Mexico City government, Architizer presents PILARES Iztapalapa by Fernanda Canales as a community center designed to strengthen learning, social interaction, and access to culture in one of the city’s most vulnerable areas. The publication highlights how the project employs courtyards, gardens, and open spaces to create a protected and luminous environment detached from the immediate surroundings of Reclusorio Oriente, fostering gathering, well-being, and collective appropriation of public space.
