This public sports facility in the border city of Naco provides safe recreation areas and sports activities. It is a covered court with community services that gives new meaning to a postindustrial area. The scheme allows for a generous flexible space that fosters a diversity of uses and provides an enriching spatial experience. It responds to a social discourse centered on the peripheries, physical and symbolic ones alike, seeking to improve the living conditions of the disadvantaged and provide civic services with very few resources on hand, making the project accessible to all and strengthening community ties in an attempt to remedy the high degree of insecurity and inequalities.
